The provisions most relevant to TicketBuddy
TicketBuddy helps event organisers create images and text. The allocation of roles, AI literacy and transparency rules for generative systems are particularly relevant to these features.
Article 2
Scope
The AI Act covers, among others, providers placing AI systems on the EU market or putting them into service and deployers established in the EU. Purely personal, non-professional use is excluded.

Provider, deployer, AI literacy and deep fake
Duties differ between the provider of an AI system and the deployer using it professionally under their authority. A deep fake is AI-generated or manipulated image, audio or video content resembling existing persons, objects, places, entities or events and falsely appearing authentic or truthful.

Sufficient AI literacy
Providers and deployers must take measures, to their best extent, to ensure sufficient AI literacy among staff and other persons acting on their behalf. Knowledge, experience, training, use context and affected groups must be considered.
Article 50(1)
Direct AI interaction
Systems interacting directly with people must generally make clear that the interaction is with an AI system unless this is already obvious to a reasonably well-informed, observant and circumspect person.
Article 50(2)
Machine-readable marking
Providers of systems generating synthetic text, image, audio or video must mark outputs in a machine-readable format and make them detectable as artificially generated or manipulated. The solution must be as effective, interoperable, robust and reliable as technically feasible.
Article 50(4) to (6)
Deep fakes, text and accessibility
Deployers must disclose deep fakes. AI text must be disclosed when published to inform the public on matters of public interest. The duty does not apply after human review or editorial control where a person or entity holds editorial responsibility. Notices must be clear, distinguishable, accessible and provided no later than first exposure.

Penalties
Non-compliance with Article 50 can fall within the fine tier of up to EUR 15 million or 3% of worldwide annual turnover. The calculation and proportionality rules in Article 99, including those for SMEs, apply; competent authorities determine any penalty case by case.

Application dates
The AI Act generally applies from 2 August 2026. Chapters I and II, including Article 4 on AI literacy, have applied since 2 February 2025. Article 50 transparency duties apply from 2 August 2026.
Information, labelling and evidence
The following product safeguards form a cautious TicketBuddy standard. They apply only where a person actually uses an AI feature.

Personal, versioned notice
Every admin user receives the currently valid information before their first AI use and again after a materially relevant update.

Only after actual AI use
Labels, review confirmations and AI audit data are not attached to manually created content. Provenance remains unambiguous for each item.

Visible and technical AI image marking
As a precaution, AI-generated images receive a visible EU AI label and machine-readable provenance information. Alternative text and accessible descriptions also identify the AI origin.

Editorial review of AI text
Before relevant AI text is published, the user confirms a content review. For news or other public-interest text, this combines with clear editorial responsibility to reflect the Article 50(4) exception. TicketBuddy also uses review for email and SEO text as a quality safeguard.

Traceable audit trail
At minimum, the policy version, language, timestamp and identity of each user's acknowledgement are recorded. Content records additionally capture AI use, the review decision and responsible person.

Clear and accessible
Notices are understandable, distinguishable and shown no later than the first relevant interaction. Screen readers receive an unambiguous statement of AI origin.
What acknowledgement means
Acknowledgement records that the user was informed and noted the rules. It does not transfer statutory responsibility to the user, replace training or an individual assessment, or release TicketBuddy or an organiser from their own obligations.
Not every AI output has the same duty
Not every AI image is legally a deep fake. TicketBuddy nevertheless labels all fully AI-generated images as a precaution because the later context of use and possible resemblance to real subjects cannot always be predicted reliably.
Not every AI text must be publicly labelled under Article 50(4). The rule concerns text published to inform the public on matters of public interest. Human review or editorial control together with clear editorial responsibility can remove the disclosure duty.
The usual TicketBuddy image and text features are described here as generative assistance, not as a high-risk use. If an organiser changes the purpose or context, for example towards employment decisions, biometric categorisation or another Annex III area, a separate legal assessment is required.
Regulation and EU guidance
The official legal text remains authoritative. Commission guidelines explain Article 50; the Code of Practice is voluntary and does not replace the Regulation.
